In March 2012, Nustadia Recreation Inc. (Nustadia) was hired to assist the Pictou County Wellness Centre with the balance of pre-opening services for the new Wellness Centre that was under construction. The Wellness Centre initiative is a multi-purpose facility shared by the municipalities of New Glasgow, Stellarton, Trenton, Pictou and the County of Pictou.
The Centre consists of twin rinks (one with seating for 1,600 that also served as an event facility), 2 swimming pools, a gymnasium, a fitness centre, a childcare and 3 large multi-purpose conference/ community rooms. Nustadia provided design review, design changes, pre-opening services, FF&E procurement, business planning, staffing and management of the Wellness Centre through its first 5 1/2 years of operations.
