Honey & Barry Memorial Arena, Vaughan, ON

In early 2019 Nustadia was approached by a group of interested donors regarding developing
a 2-pad arena project in the Greater Toronto area. Nustadia toured the group members through
the Upper Canada College facility, a 2-pad that Nustadia was the development manager on,
and currently operates, and discussed the process of developing an arena project. Later in 2019
Nustadia was retained to prepare a feasibility study for a 2- pad arena on a site the group had
located in Vaughan, Ontario.

The development of the Honey & Barry Memorial Arena is a comprehensive project involving
multiple phases of planning, design, and construction management. The following details outline
the key stages and activities managed by Nustadia:

  • Phase 1: Feasibility / Capital Plan / Pre-Development
  • Phase 2: Schematic Design & Project Definition / Tender Services
  • Phase 3: Design Development & Due Diligence
  • Phase 4: Development & Construction
  • Phase 5: Substantial Performance, Commissioning & Operations Start-up

Nustadia’s role as the Development Manager and Owner’s Representative includes overseeing every aspect of the project from initial feasibility studies to final commissioning and operations, ensuring that the arena meets community needs and operates efficiently. The facility is slated to open in the Summer of
2025.
